Do you price by color?
No, digital printing goes directly from desktop to
printer with no setup charges for color screens or separations.
It costs no more to maximize your output by using color when printing
digitally.
What
is your maximum size?
Most large-format digital machines are roll-fed,
so the image length can vary up to 100'. Standard widths are 52"-70".
Pieces can be tiled to achieve larger sizes with virtually unnoticeable
seams.
How
do I submit files for output?
Files should be submitted in native form from an appropriate image
or document layout program. Separately, save all fonts and graphic
files for placed (linked) images. For more info consult our file
set up guide or media and file formats
page.
What
are the setup costs?
There are no setup costs in digital printing
if a print-ready file is submitted.
When
is digital printing cost effective versus traditional printing technologies?
Large-format digital printing is primarily used for
short production runs (quantity of 250 or less). Digital printing
is also used to meet short turnaround requirements for higher quantities
or just in time inventory requirements over long periods to avoid
graphics obsolescence.
How
does your technology respond to last-minute design changes or revisions
to proofs?
No problem. Going direct from desktop
to printer makes editing hassle-free.
Are
there any costs, other than the print and finishing cost, which
I should be aware of?
Additional charges can be incurred if files submitted
to your vendor are not print-ready. DGI-Invisuals will contact you prior to
production if problems are found.
Are
there minimum quantity requirements?
No. Even a quantity of one is affordable.
Digital print production has made custom, full color posters, vinyl
and fabric banners, trade show graphics, and vehicle graphics cost
effective in low quantities.
How
does the quality of digital printing compare with that of photographic,
silk screen or offset technology?
Evaluating
quality is difficult because there are so many printers on the market
and presumptions should not be made solely on dpi (dots per inch).
Color calibrations, trained and experienced personnel, as well as
the technical capabilities of the printer, are important factors.
Request a sample or purchase a proof prior to final production to
see if your quality requirements will be met.
We
are usually pressed for time, what kind of turnaround can I expect?
Turnaround
is directly related to the size and complexity of your project.
DGI-Invisuals can offer standard turnaround from 4872 hours. Quicker
turnaround is availablewe are here to work with you and meet
your deadlines.
Are
large-format graphics affordable to use for comping?
Yes, at a low cost you can produce
comps for packaging, promotions, and retail prototypes. Purchase
full-color digital prints before beginning a high quantity production
run to ensure that you are satisfied with your design. It's a cost-effective
way to proof for colors and layout.
What
graphic formats can you accept?
Design and layout software packages
are best and acceptable in Mac or PC format. Desirable: Quark XPress,
Illustrator, Photoshop, Pagemaker, Freehand, and Corel Draw. Not
Desirable: MS Word, Powerpoint, video formats and files formatted
for the web.

changes so fast, what do you do to keep abreast of new developments?
